Here are a couple of photos from our wonderful trip to The Seven Rila Lakes - one of Bulgaria's most amazing nature spots. It's definately a place to be seen!
Започнахме с фалстарт - GPS-ът ни подведе и пътешествието от София до Паничище се удължи с близо 40 минути. Но рано или късно намерихме си пътя и стигнахме.
We began with a fault start - the GPS misled us and the journey from Sofia to Panichishte was prolonged with almost 40 minutes, but don't worry, we got there in the end.
На импровизирания паркинг точно преди лифт "Седемте езера" ни направи впечатление изключително големият брой коне, които пасяха наоколо.
On the so-called parking space right in front of the lifts we saw quite a lot of horses who were grazing casually all around us.
Впоследствие ни стана ясно защо това бе така - местните водачи ги използваха като атрактивен начин за превоз на туристите до хижа Рилски езера. Другата алтернатива на четиричасовото изкачване пеша е лифтът, с който за 20 минути човек достига циркуса на езерата на 2196 метра надморска височина.
In the end we realised why the horses were so numerous and gathered all together - the local guides used them as a way of transporting tourists to the "Rila lakes" lodge. If you do not wish to spend quite a lot of time on horsesaddle taking you up to 2196 meters above sea level, there is a lift that would take you in about 20 minutes to the desired destination.
